2010 National Signing Day Predictions
Seantrel Henderson, Cretin-Derham Hall HS (MN)
Height: 6’8″
Weight: 338
Position(s): Offensive Tackle/Defensive Tackle
Top Schools: Miami, Ohio State and USC
Scouting Report: Perfect symmetry in pass pro, feet are shoulder width apart. Hands on thigh pads, elbows bent, not over extending past shoulders. Perfect kick step to the slide. Upper body vertical with knees bent and feet moving. Places his hands up to chest level ready to deliver a punch. His butt is down and his back is about as flat as you could expect from a 6-foot-8 man.
Keenan Allen, Northern Guliford HS (NC)
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 194
Position(s): Safety
Top Schools: California, Clemson and Penn State
Scouting Report: Allen’s athletic ability and hands as a long wide receiver really translate well to his play as a safety, where he adds awareness and surprising tackling fundamentals to his game. An elite free safety normally has trouble with open field tackles, but Allen plays just as well in the running game in the box and coming up from the deep third. Not incredible speed, but more than enough to get the job done. Amazing at attacking the ball in the air.
Christian Jones, Lake Howell HS (FL)
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 228
Position(s): Linebacker
Top Schools: Alabama, Florida and Florida State
Scouting Report: Jones is considered by some to be the state’s top linebacker prospect this year in Florida. He has ideal size, big time athletic ability, and he made a lot of plays over the last few years. He doesn’t have great coverage skills, however, and you’d like to see him being more explosive in his tackling with that size.
Corey Lemonier, Hialeah Senior HS (FL)
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 225
Position(s): Defensive End
Top Schools: Auburn, Florida State and LSU
Scouting Report: Size, speed and athletic ability are three traits that make Corey Lemonier one of the top defensive players in the country. A great first step allows him to get the edge on any given play and is a disruptive force once in the opposing backfield. Like any player entering his senior season of football he needs to work on his overall strength but as he grows and continues to get bigger he will be a force at the next level.
Christian Green, Tampa Catholic HS (FL)
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 185
Position(s): Quarterback/Wide Receiver
Top Schools: Florida, Florida State and Georgia
Scouting Report: Green is an outstanding athlete. He could play quarterback on the next level, but he is best on the edge at receiver. His size (6-2/185) and speed (sub 4.5 in the 40 yard dash) make him a weapon anywhere on the field. Being used to playing QB, he will have to work on route running, downfield blocking, and things of that nature, but his speed and playmaking ability make him a top wideout.
Da’Rick Rogers, Calhoun HS (GA)
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 197
Position(s): Wide Receiver/Safety
Top Schools: Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee
Scouting Report: Rogers is a special talent. He has all the tools to be an elite receiver on the next level. He is built like a linebacker, but he is a smooth athlete that runs well, that has great body control, and he has as much potential as anyone in Georgia. He is a great straightline runner, but needs to improve flexibility. If he puts everything together, then he can be a 2010 signee that plays as a true freshman.
Ivan McCartney, Miramar HS (FL)
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 175
Position(s): Wide Receiver
Top Schools: Florida, Miami and West Virginia
Scouting Report: McCartney is deceptively quick in and out of his breaks. He is an outstanding route runner. He is a very competitive player that often leads by example and has a very strong desire to win. He possesses an outstanding frame, just needs to fill it out and add more muscle mass. Has a knack for making the spectacular catch. Very solid weapon in the red zone.
Demar Dorsey, Boyd Anderson HS (FL)
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 175
Position(s): Safety
Top Schools: Florida, Michigan and USC
Scouting Report: Dorsey is as athletic as any player in the country with his combination of great size, frame, speed, and first step quickness. He’s further ahead athletically than as a player. He can get caught turning the wrong way, has trouble getting off blocks, and is sloppy in his tackling form, but with the ball in his hands on returns and letting his instincts as an athlete takeover, he show’s that he’s special. Definition of an upside recruit.
