49ers Coach Mike Singletary To Stick With QB Troy Smith
According to Matt Maiocco of , San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary will stick with Troy Smith at quarterback after earning the game ball for his performance against the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London.
Smith led the 49ers to a 24-16 victory after passing for 196 yards and a touchdown to second-year wide receiver Michael Crabtree. He also added a rushing touchdown to his stat sheet accounting for half of the 49ers points.
“We’re going to continue to go forward with Troy Smith right now,” Singletary said. “We’re going into the bye week, and as far as Alex Smith is concerned, it’s a week-to-week deal. I’ll wait and talk to our doctors, trainers, whatever. But we’ll make those decisions as we need to.”
