49ers QB Alex Smith Out 2-3 Weeks With Sprained AC Joint; Troy Smith To Start

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith will be out 2-3 weeks after spraining his AC Joint against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

49ers backup quarterback David Carr seems to be demoted after Sunday’s performance because former Ravens quarterback Troy Smith will get the start Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
