49ers Release Veteran WR Brandon Jones
According to 49ers Rapid Release Reports, the 49ers have released wide receiver Brandon Jones in a move that did not surprise many observers. Jones signed a fivr-year, $16.5 million contract last year but never got on track after breaking his shoulder in training camp. Jones was plagued by a hamstring injury throughout this year’s camp.
Jones played college football at Oklahoma before being selected by the Tennessee Titans in the third round of the 2005 draft.
Jones was also selected by the New York Yankees in the 2001 amateur draft but chose football over baseball.
