49ers TE Vernon Davis Looking For $8 Million A Year
Matt Maiocco of CSNBayarea.com reports San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is seeking to become the highest-paid tight end in the league at $8 million per season according to NFL sources.
It is unlikely the 49ers will pay him that much, at least not right now. Without a new CBA, it may be tough to sign Davis to a long-term deal at this time. Davis, according to Maiocco is the 49ers top priority to get a contract extension.
If a deal couldn’t be reached, conventional wisdom would dictate the 49ers using the franchise tag to keep Davis in 2011, but without a new CBA, that option may not be available.

Excusa mei Mr. Davis…highest paid TE, I don't get it. I mean top 5 yeah but seriously dude…NOT!
He's the best player on the 49ers and he wants top dollar. Elvis Dumervil just got $61.5 Million from the Broncos, I can understand why Davis wants to get paid.
