Agent For RB Larry Johnson Says He Won’t Sign This Weekend

said Thursday that his client will not sign with a team in time to play this weekend.
Peter Schaffer told ESPN that Johnson, cut by the Chiefs on Monday, is still discussing his options with teams.
“We’re going to let this weekend’s games happen and go from there,” Schaffer told ESPN.
“We’re making good progress with some teams. But we’re not going to rush into a bad deal. We’ll see what happens Monday. If he isn’t signed by Monday, then we’ll continue to monitor the situation.”
Several teams, including the Texans and Redskins, have ruled out pursuing Johnson, who became a free agent when he passed through waivers on Tuesday.
Johnson was in Dallas on Thursday, but Schaffer told the Kansas City Star the trip was not to explore signing with the Cowboys.
