Alabama RB Mark Ingram Out Up To Two Weeks After Knee Surgery
The Alabama Crimson Tide will be playing their opener against San Jose State without running back Mark Ingram and possibly longer.
The 2010 Heisman Trophy Winner underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday morning after injuring his knee late in Monday’s practice.
Alabama coach Nick Saban said it was a “situation where everyone thought it would be better to take care of now, so he would not have any issues with it later in the season.”
Alabama officials are ruling Ingram out for the first game right now, but he may not even be back for the next game against the #19 Penn State Nittany Lions.
True sophomore Trent Richardson will take his place as the starter with redshirt freshman Eddie Lacy backing him up.
