Argentina’s Angel Cabrera Wins 2009 Masters

In a two-hole playoff at the Masters, Argentina’s Angel Cabrera wins the green jacket as he defeated America’s Kenny Perry.
Cabrera becomes only the second South American to win two major championships.
Cabrera and Perry were tied at 11-under, the lowest 54-hole score at Augusta in seven years. Even the 16 players within seven shots of the lead still feel like they’re in the game because of those familiar back-nine fireworks in the forecast.
Cabrera, the 2007 U.S. Open winner, pulled off a remarkable par at No. 18 after hitting his tee shot behind a tree. Perry also made par after his chip rolled up just short of the hole.
They then moved on to hole #10 where Perry hit a terrible approach far left of the green. His chip skidded past the cup and he never got a chance to finish up. Cabrera two-putted for par to win the green jacket.
CONGRATULATIONS ANGEL CABRERA!!!
How many of you had Cabrera to Win???
I know I didn’t!!!

My Goodness…if anyone cannot tell me that Cabrera is a complete golf bull I would challenge the entire field at the Masters. He is unbelievable at taking the "open door" and finishing. Loved watching it unfold…powerful Angel, and on Easter Sunday!
Looks like Angel could have started a nice little streak here.
I would say so. I know he is a golf horse and can keep the level of play up.

Happy to see Cabrera pull it off under pressure like that. It is clear that Tiger was having an off-weekend, but glad to see Angel was able to close it out.
I agree, I'm always glad to see a new face win a major tournament.
