Arizona State QB Steven Threet Quits Football For Good

According to Bruce Feldman of ESPN, Arizona State quarterback Steven Threet will never suit up for the Sun Devils again.

Threet, a transfer from Michigan in 2008, suffered four career concussions, three from the 2010 season alone.  He now suffers from post-concussion syndrome and deals with constant headaches.

“Doctors have told him a fifth concussion could be debilitating,” said the source. “You don’t want to be 35 years old and can’t hold up a cup of coffee.” ~ ESPN

Threet completed 62 percent of his passes, throwing for 2,534 yards with 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions for the Sun Devils.

With Threet out of the picture, junior Brock Osweiler is expected to be the team’s No. 1 quarterback.
