Atlanta Dream Waive G Nikki Teasley; Sign G Ivory Latta

ivory-latta_nc

The Atlanta Dream replace one Tar Heel with another Tar Heel early Friday morning waiving guard Nikki Teasley and re-signing guard Ivory Latta.

Latta was a member of the Dream’s inaugural team last year and was a major contributor to the team. Alot of Dream fans, including myself, were shocked that Latta wasn’t re-signed, but she’s back.

Latta appeared in all 34 games for the Dream last season, starting 31. She averaged 11.4 points and 3.6 assists a game.

Teasley was a good player for the Dream and I’m sure all the Dream fans wish her luck.

Good or bad move for the Dream?

Why is Latta signing so late? I'm sure fans are glad to have her back, but I'm curious as to the circumstances.

I'm curious about that as well.

Latta didn't sign late…I heard she was waiting for this to happen…she wanted to be in ATL and had other options. Unlike most fans of the game…Latta was loyal to the team.

Why wasn't there room for both Latta & Teasley. I see no major problem with Teasley but it must salary cap move.

The rosters were cut to 11 this year and the Dream were already at 11, so they had to cut someone to make room for Latta.
