Bears Sign Former Patriots S Brandon Meriweather

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears have signed Pro Bowl safety Brandon Meriweather to a one-year contract

Meriweather, a former Miami Hurricane, was recently released by the New England Patriots to get their roster to 53. The Patriots release of Meriweather was a huge shock considering he has made the Pro Bowl each other the last two seasons.

Despite having 24 pass defenses and 12 interceptions over the last three seasons, the Patriots questioned Meriweather’s pass coverage which prompted his release.
