Bengals Inquired About A Trade For Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett

Before the trade deadline, the Cincinnati Bengals contacted the Dallas Cowboys about a trade for tight end Martellus Bennett.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen cited a source saying the Bengals called to see if Bennett was available as part of the significant offer owner and general manager Jerry Jones talked about on Wednesday.
From a Bengals’ perspective it makes sense because they lost Reggie Kelly and Ben Utecht to injuries during training camp and starter Daniel Coats has shown he has a hard time catching passes.
This wouldn’t have been the first Cowboys to Bengals transition this year, they already have former Cowboys safety Roy Williams, defensive tackle Tank Johnson and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.
Here is Bennett’s tweet: @jupiterscrunch “Ha the bengals tried to trade for me? ochocinco Marty b woulda been a ruckus. I love being a cowboy tho this is home I love this team.”
