Bills Name Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell Interim Head Coach

for the Buffalo Bills in the wake of the firing of Dick Jauron.
Fewell, 47, has been the Bills’ defensive coordinator the past three and a half years.
He takes over a team that is 3-6 heading into Sunday’s game at Jacksonville.
“Perry Fewell will be our interim head coach,” Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. said in a statement released by the team. “Perry has done a great job with our defense and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills as defensive coordinator. Our players and staff have a lot of confidence in him and that is important as we look forward to these next seven games.”
Prior to joining Jauron’s staff, Fewell was defensive backs coach in Chicago in 2005. He was a secondary coach in St. Louis in 2003 and ’04 and in Jacksonville from 1998 to 2002.
