Buffalo Bills Sign Free Agent RB Dominic Rhodes

The Bills added Rhodes as insurance with starting running back Marshawn Lynch being suspended for the first three games of the 2009 regular season for violating the NFL’s personal-conduct policy. Fred Jackson, who’s skipping voluntary workouts because he’s unhappy with his contract situation, and Xavier Omon are among the other running backs on Buffalo’s roster.
Rhodes, an eight-year NFL veteran, has spent seven of his seasons in the league with the Colts. He started four games for Indianapolis last season and rushed for 538 yards and six touchdowns on 152 carries. Rhodes also caught 45 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns.
