Breaking News: Isiah Thomas Accepts Head Coaching Position At FIU

Former Knicks head coach and GM Isiah Thomas has accepted the head coaching position at Florida International University in Miami.
I am happy for my hometown team in FIU getting a big name like Isiah Thomas to coach their basketball program and will not get great recruiting and be able to compete in the but Thomas went from being in the NBA to low-level college basketball coach. Is he trying to clear his name???
FIU went 12-20 during the 2009 season. Thomas should help them improve in the Sun Belt Conference
Why do you think Thomas took this low-level job???

Wow that's a big step down for an NBA coach, but a great move for Florida International. That should definitely help with their recruiting and hopefully Isiah can rebuild his reputation while down in Miami and work his way back to the NBA.
I read all of this and for some reason I remember a drug overdose? That could be one of the reasons he took the job.
That is if he wants to go back to the NBA!!!
That's a very strong possibility
It might be a good look for him, since he's a micro-manager. That seems to go over a lot better in college than the pros.
I think he's going to turn FIU around and I also believe college is better for him than the pros, even though he is a Hall of Famer.
He won't last 2 years!!
I think he will be there for 3 years and then leave.
Certainly works for FIU. They get a coach with great name recognition, if not a sterling reputation. That name may get them a recruit or two that would never dream of playing in the Sun Belt Conference.
I agree, Thomas will bring in some heavy recruits to FIU
