Browns Hire Former Hurricanes Offensive Coordinator Mark Whipple To Be QB Coach
Cleveland Browns new head coach Pat Shurmur added another coach to his staff hiring former Hurricanes offensive coordinator Mark Whipple on Monday to serve as the team’s quarterbacks coach.
Whipple spent the past two seasons in Miami but was fired when the school dismissed Randy Shannon before the end of last season. Whipple was reportedly close to getting the head coaching position at the University of Connecticut but the position went to former Syracuse coach Paul Pasqualoni instead.
Whipple last held the position of quarterback coach was with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004-2006 where he coached a young Ben Roethlisberger for the first three years of his career.
