Buccaneers HOF DE Lee Roy Selmon Suffers Stroke; In Critical Condition
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon suffered a stroke on Friday and has been hospitialized and is said to be in “very serious” condition.
The former University of South Florida athletic director was confirmed to have been admitted by his former employer and Selmon’s brother, Dewey, confirmed that he’s showing signs of progress.
Selmon, a former Oklahoma Sooner, was drafted by the Buccaneers in 1976 where he went to six straight Pro Bowls and was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1979. Selmon retired after the 1984 and was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.
