Bucs WR Mario Urrutia Arrested For License Violation

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mario Urrutia was arrested and charged with a driver’s license violation Sunday night in Florida.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies took the 24-year-old into custody at 10:20 p.m. Sunday night at the intersection of Waters Ave. and Country Hollow Drive in the Tampa area.

The official charge according to the police report is “violation of nonresident driver’s license” which is a second degree misdemeanor.

Urrutia subsequently posted a $500 cash bond and was released from custody shortly after 2 a.m. Monday morning.

A second degree misdemeanor is punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine in Florida, although it is highly unlikely Urrutia will see any time behind bars at this time.

The former Louisville standout was at the Buccaneers training facility on Monday, but did not participate in OTAs due to an injury. He was wearing a walking boot on his right foot.

The Buccaneers signed him to their 53-man roster late last December after he spent the majority of the season on their practice squad.
