Calvary Christian Academy QB Javan Shashaty Throws 8 TD’s; Sets Broward County Record
Calvary Christian Academy quarterback Javan Shashaty set a new Broward County single-game record on Friday night throwing for eight touchdown passes, including three to Shawn Lashbrook and Gregory Mabin.
Shashaty finished the game completing 16 of 22 passes for a career high 531 yards as the Eagles defeated Highlands Christian 55-26.
“It’s an incredible feeling … it’s like a dream really because you don’t think about throwing that many touchdown passes in a game,” the senior said. “It feels great, but the best part about it is the team winning.” ~
The Eagles were losing to the Knights 20-7 early in the second quarter before Shashaty led his offense with five unanswered touchdown passes.
Lashbrook and Mabin finished with a combined 11 catches for 390 of Shashaty’s 531 passing yards.
Shashaty, who holds several passing records in Broward County, has no college offers.
