Camarillo HS WR Jake Maulhardt Sets California Single-Game Record With 28 Catches
Camarillo High School senior caught a California state-record 28 passes during Friday’s 52-28 football loss to Canyon High School.
Maulhardt, who’s 6’7″ 215 lbs, broke a 27-year old record that was set by Fullerton’s David Sepulveda in 1984 and now ranks third in national history. The record of 32 has stood since 1942.
Maulhardt also added three touchdowns thrown by his 5’8″ 160 pound sophomore quarterback Michael Marin who completed 42 of 57 passes for 447 yards and four touchdowns.
