Cardinals Bench QB Matt Leinart; Is This The End?
Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt seems to be through with trying to make Matt Leinart the starter at quarterback.
Whisenhunt announced that Derek Anderson will start Arizona’s preseason game this week against the Bears and the plan is for Leinart to come off the bench late in the second quarter and play into the second half.
Whisenhunt said that the move to start Anderson is not permanent, but it doesn’t take a genius to see this is now Anderson’s job to lose.
Anderson does have starting experience from his time with the Browns and have fought off quarterbacks before and this situation won’t be any different. I predict that Anderson will keep the starting job in Arizona.
This is Leinart’s fourth-year in the league and he’s yet to live up to the Hesiman hype that he brought into the NFL from USC.
Is this the end of Leinart’s career?
