Cardinals Trade For Jets S Kerry Rhodes

One day after losing safety Antrel Rolle to the New York Giants, the Cardinals trade for Jets safety Kerry Rhodes according to a report by ESPN.

In return the Jets will receive a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft and a seventh-round pick in the 2011 draft. The 27-year-old Rhodes finished the 2009 season with 63 tackles and three interceptions.

Mike Tannenbaum, the general manager of the Jets, previously scoffed at the notion of moving Rhodes. Tannenbaum said Friday that Rhodes would receive his required $2 million roster bonus and remain with the team next season, adding that the former Louisville standout would not be moved “unless something changes.”
