Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin Gets Stadium Named After Him
Pahokee’s Student Advisory Council voted to name the school’s new football stadium after its brightest star.
Blue Devils coach Blaze Thompson said the field, which opens this fall, will be called Anquan Boldin Stadium.
Anquan has done a lot for the team and the town,” Thompson said. “We’re really proud and honored that he would accept the stadium being named after him.”
Boldin played for Florida State and the Arizona Cardinals after finishing a spectacular career as Pahokee’s quarterback. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest high school athletes in the history of Palm Beach County.
He was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2003 and has been selected to three Pro Bowls during his time with Arizona.
The school has yet to determine names for its new practice field and fieldhouse, though there is growing support to name one of those facilities after former player Norman Griffith, who was killed last fall during his senior season.
