Chargers Defensive Coordinator Ron Rivera Agrees To Coach Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have decided to hire Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera to be their next head coach and Rivera has agreed.

The team hasn’t made an official announcement, but multiple sources have confirmed this news. Including one report that says both sides are just “putting the finishing touches” on the contract.

Rivera seemed to have the inside track after the first round of interviews. He was the only coach brought back for a second interview.

Rivera will replace the Panthers’ former coach of nine years, John Fox, who was fired on New Year’s Eve.
