Chargers Rookie RB Ryan Mathews Feeling Comfortable With New Offense
San Diego Chargers rookie running back Ryan Mathews said the coaching staff threw a lot at him during minicamps, but it was not too overwhelming, reports Nick Canepa, of The San Diego Union-Tribune.
“I got more and more comfortable. It’s so much faster. They threw a lot at me, but I picked up everything fast,” Mathews said.
Mathews believes he is big enough to run through tackles and agile enough to make some defenders miss. He also added he does not feel any pressure trying to replace LaDainian Tomlinson, and said LT’s shoes are hard to fill. “I’m going to play my game,” Mathews said.
