Chargers Sign Rookie LB Larry English

San Diego Chargers’ first-round pick Larry English has agreed to a five-year $13.4 million contract including $9.9 guaranteed.

English is two-time MAC Defensive Player of the Year, from Northern Illinois, ended his 31.5 sacks and is expected to bring these same pass rushing skills to the San Diego defense.

English should team up very well with all-pro linebacker Shawne Merriman and new teammate Shaun Phillips in hopes of improving the Chargers defense.
