Chris Johnson Agrees To Restructured Deal With The Titans

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson stated that he could not play for $550,000 this season and now he won’t have to.

Johnson and the Titans agreed to a restructured deal according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The contract is not signed yet, but the running back could put pen to paper within the next 48 hours. It is believed that the Titans have pushed forward some of his $2.5 million escalator clause, but no new years have been added.

“We’re still talking through some issues,” a source told ESPN on Monday. “It’s going to get done, but it’s not done yet.”

Once the new CBA is hammered out, Johnson will readdress his contract status as he wants to be the highest paid offensive player in the NFL.

It’s doubtful he’ll acheive that, but a hefty raise will come with time. Until then, the two sides have worked to this amicable agreement.

The best news for the Titans and their fans is that Johnson should now be at camp on time.
