Colts Claim Former Broncos QB Tom Brandstater Off Waivers

The Indianapolis Colts have picked quarterback Tom Brandstater off waivers from Denver. There’s already a crowded field lining up to back up Manning but let’s see what happens.

Brandstater was cut from the Broncos last week, after he couldn’t get enough reps behind Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn and newcomer Tim Tebow. This guy is really interesting to me because (a) he’s a Californian, and (b) he is HUGE!

Brandstater, a 2009 6th round pick out of Fresno State, is 6’5″ and 225 pounds, and may be the biggest quarterback in the NFL, outside of now teammate Peyton Manning.
