Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay announced at a breakfast meeting with Super Bowl donors on Monday morning that quarterback Peyton Manning will be out for the remainder of the season.

Sources at the breakfast meeting report Manning won’t practice again until December and may not play again until 2012.

Manning, who traveled outside the country for stem cell treatment, has had three surgery’s during the offseason on his neck and will look to come back next year to lead the Colts.

Colts vice chairman Bill Polian is just now starting to look for a long term replacement for Manning but told a radio audience that Peyton will play in Indianapolis for several more years.
