We’ve all played the game since the Cowboys’ season ended: what are their biggest needs? At the top of the list is offensive line. And even if the Cowboys won last week, it would still be offensive line. It’s always offensive line.

Then kicker and safety. And you would think wide receiver, too, right?

Not to Jerry Jones.

“We’ve got some receivers, enough where if I left the draft without a receiver, I’d sleep like a baby,” the owner and general manager said Thursday.

We know about his crush on Kevin Ogletree. You saw Miles Austin explode in 2009. You know Roy Williams, despite the low production, will be back. And Patrick Crayton is dependable and has scored 16 touchdowns the last three seasons. Sam Hurd has had moments too.

But Jones also mentioned practice squadders Jesse Holley, who won an invite to camp from Michael Irvin’s reality show, and Manny Johnson, a seventh round pick, as players that could push the guys next year.

Reaction: I think wide receiver is a priority, I don’t think we have drafted wide receiver in the first round since Michael Irvin. We need to develop a first round wide receiver, not average receiver and other peoples garbage (Roy Williams). Not only is Williams other peoples trash, he’s the Lions trash for God’s sake, THE LIONS!!! SMH. We have neglected the receiver position for way too long. Not drafting a wide receiver in the first round in 22 years is ridiculous.

We could use another safety, a new left tackle to replace an aging, unathletic, holding penalty and false starting having Flozell Adams, but I think we need to take wide receiver first. Look at the great teams of the past decade and their super bowl winning teams, all originally drafted players from their respective teams mostly in the first round. Steelers- Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes, Colts- Marvin Harrison, and Reggie Wayne, Patriots- David Givens, Deion Branch and Troy Brown, Rams- Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt just to name a few.

I didn’t think we needed running back and tight end in the past but they have drafted Felix Jones and Tashard Choice at RB behind Marion Barber and Martellus Bennett and John Phillips behind Jason Witten and we are fine at those positionsm why can’t we draft ONE? I’m not asking for to draft two like these positions, all I want is one. DRAFT A WIDE RECEIVER IN THE FIRST ROUND, IT WORKS!!!
