Cowboys T Marc Columbo Breaks Leg Vs Packers; Not Ruling Out Return This Year

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Marc Colombo’s season is over because of a broken left fibula, but the right tackle is not ready to shut it down.

In all likelihood, however, he is done for the regular season. He is eyeing a comeback for a possible playoff run.

“I’m mad but I’ll get back on the field as soon as possible and it’ll definitely be this season,” Colombo said. “We’ve got seven, eight weeks left in the season. I’m not a doctor but I know I’m going to go out and rehab as much as I can.”

It might be difficult for the Cowboys to hold a roster space for Colombo because they almost assuredly have to add an offensive linemen to the 53-man roster.

Colombo’s time in Chicago came to an end largely because of a serious knee injury but he has started every game at right tackle since winning the job during training camp in 2006.

“It sucks,” Colombo said. “It’ll sink in more. I’m worried about figuring out what I’m going to do with this first.”
