Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett Apologizes For Nude Pictures Seen Online
reports on his website that Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett has apologized for the nude pictures of him that have surfaced on the internet. Bennett is seen holding camera phone while taking a full-body picture of himself. The picture appears online on various websites, however with censors in the graphic areas. Bennett claims the picture was taken before he was a member of the Cowboys.
These pictures are four years old and placed on the internet without my knowledge or consent”, said Bennett. “I understand that they are totally inappropriate and for that I am sorry. I regret the embarrassment it has caused the organization.”
During the afternoon press conference, Wade Phillips said the matter would be handled and discussed. He also deflected all questions to Cowboys team spokesman Rich Dalrymple, who was also quoted in a statement.“We discussed the matter today with Martellus and will address it further on an internal basis.”
As for Bennett’s playing status, he missed another practice Monday with a sprained ankle. He said on Sunday he is hoping to return to the field by the end of the week.

This guy's story is already being written as I type this comment. Tremendous talent with all of the potential for greatness in the world, but he couldn't get past his own foolishness to realize it. He's entering into his 3rd NFL season and it still hasn't clicked. And I know this isn't directly his fault but it still adds to the list of foolishness he's gotten himself into instead of becoming a better player. He's creating an image of an immature eff up…sad.
