DE Jason Pierre-Paul Becomes Highest Drafted Player In USF History

When the New York Giants selected defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul with the 15th pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft, it made him the highest-drafted South Florida Bull in school history.

Pierre-Paul, naturally, was elated.

He followed the draft at the Fontainebleau’s club LIV with agent Drew Rosenhaus at his side, and lit up a huge smile as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced his name.

“Off the edge, he’s a natural pass-rusher,” draft guru Mel Kiper said on the ESPN broadcast. “He has just touched the surface of how good he can be.”

Reaction: Even though Pierre-Paul will be playing for my division rival New York Giants, I will be rooting for this guy. He, like myself, is a Broward County product and I always root for my Florida guys but especially guys from my hometown. Congratulations Jason Pierre-Paul.
