Detroit Tigers First Baseman Miguel Cabrera Arrested For DUI
The Associated Press is reporting that Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has been arrested on DUI charges in St. Lucie County, Florida.
Authorities say the 27-year-old’s car engine was smoking alongside a road late Wednesday when a deputy spotted the vehicle.
Police say Cabrera had all the signs of someone being drunk including alcohol smell, slurred speech and he even went as far as taking a swig of scotch in front of the officer. Cabrera refused to cooperate and told authorites, “Do you know who I am, you don’t know anything about my problems.”
Cabrera is no stranger to dealing with the police, in 2009, Cabrera got into a fight with his wife after a night of drinking, right before his team lost the American League Central Division title to the Twins.
Cabrera posted $1,350 bond and was released Thursday morning.
