ESPN’s College Gameday Goes to FAMU
You heard right folks, my alma mater FAMU, will be hosting Gameday this weekend. I am completely shocked at this news. FAMU will be the first Historically Black College or University (HBCU) to host Gameday. I’m shocked because of three reasons, number one they are coming to an HBCU, number two they are coming to my alma mater and number three the game is not a very good game. Neither FAMU nor Hampton can win the MEAC Conference so that brings me to ask the question why? Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy about the news but I would just like to know why a MEAC game that puts together the #4 and #5 teams in the conference. There are no 1st Round NFL Draft Picks in this game, no one is breaking any long standing records, what is it? Anyway, here are some players to watch in this game:
FAMU Rattlers
QB Curtis Pulley
FAMU Passing Yards Leader (1,098)
FAMU Rushing Yards Leader (582)
WR Kevin Elliott
MEAC Leader in Receptions (50)
2nd in the MEAC in Receiving Yards (690)
2nd in the MEAC in Receiving Touchdowns (7)
DB Qier Hall
MEAC Leader in Interceptions (5)
Hampton Pirates
QB Herbert Bynes
MEAC Passing Yards Leader (2,269)
2nd in the MEAC in Passing Touchdowns (15)
RB LaMarcus Coker
4th in the MEAC in Rushing Yards (597)
WR Justin Brown
2nd in the MEAC in Receptions (45)
MEAC Leader in Receiving Yards (735)
MEAC Leader in Receiving Touchdowns (8)
