Ex-’Canes QB Torretta and Raiders WR Brown Among 2009 College Football Hall of Famers

Former ‘Canes QB Gino Torretta has been named a College Football Hall of Famer. Torretta’s Hall of Fame creditentials include six college football awards in 1992 including Johnny Unitas Award, Davey O’Brien Award and the Heisman Trophy. He amassed an amazing 26-1 record at Miami with the lone loss to Alabama in the 1992 National Championship Game.

Another great player entering the class of College Football Hall of Fame is Former Fighting Irish and Raiders WR Tim Brown. Brown won the 1987 Heisman Trophy and was the first wide receiver to win the award.
Brown chose Notre Dame and played there from 1984-1987, earning the nickname “Touchdown Timmy.” In his first year, he set a freshman record with 28 receptions. As a junior, he set a record with 1,937 all-purpose yards.
Brown finished his career at Notre Dame with 137 receptions, a school record 5,024 all-purpose yards, and 22 touchdowns.

Tim Brown was one of my favorite players on the Raiders. Wow I see Curt Warner on the list, he was great in college. Good for him
