Falcons CB Brian Williams Out For The Season With Torn ACL

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Brian Williams suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the 21-14 victory over the Chicago Bears and was lost for the season, according to head coach Mike Smith.
Williams, signed before the start of the season, helped to stablized the Falcons young secondary over the first five games. He started at the left cornerback position and moved down inside to play slot receivers in the nickel defense.
Williams was released from Jacksonville, but was signed by the Falcons. His familiarity with Smith’s defensive system allowed him to basically walk in and take a starting position.
