Falcons Sign Former Saints RB Aaron Stecker

The Atlanta Falcons have reportedly signed former New Orleans Saints tailback Aaron Stecker to help fill in while tailback Jerious Norwood and fullback Ovie Mughelli are nursing injuries.

Stecker, 33, has not caught on anywhere since the Saints let him go in free agency this year.

Stecker spent five years in New Orleans as a backup tailback and special teams specialist. Before that, he spent four years with Tampa Bay. So he’s plenty familiar with the NFC South. It will be interesting to see if he gets into the action quickly enough to play in the Superdome on Monday night.

Stecker is my cousin. Not many people know that even after retirement he tried out for the Packers and Saints but his hamstring slowed him down.
