Florida Gators wide receiver Percy Harvin says that his sprained right ankle is “90 percent” and will play in the BCS National Championship Game against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Harvin sat out the SEC Championship Game against the Alabama Crimson Tide after injuring his right ankle in the Gators regular season finale against in state rival Florida State Seminoles. Harvin is fully committed to playing in the National Championship game, healthy or not.

Gators quarterback Tim Tebow will need him against a stifling Sooners defense that will look to contain Tebow and his ability to run the football. Which means Tebow may have to use his arm to win the title this year.

The Gators will have plenty of weapons for Tebow to use along with the addition of Harvin in the offense makes them even more dangerous.

There was not much offense in this game from the Eagles but plenty came from defense and special teams. Eagles kicked David Akers hit four field goals giving the Eagles the 12 points they needed to win the game.

The Eagles loan touchdown was scored on a 71-yard touchdown pass from Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb to running back Brian Westbrook.

The only bright spot for the Minnesota Vikings was the effort given by pro bowl running back Adrian Peterson on offense rushing for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

Next up for the Eagles is a trip to their division rival and defending Super Bowl Champions the New York Giants.

Reed picked off two passes taking one 64 yards for a touchdown late in the second half. Reed’s total of 76 yards with both interceptions and one touchdown was more than the total amount of rushing yards and touchdowns recorded by the entire Dolphins offense.

Cornerback Fabian Washington and safety Jim Leonhard had one interception each to contribute to the Ravens defensive effort.

The Ravens defense completely shut down the Dolphins offense and look very good going into next Saturday’s game against the equally defensive Tennessee Titans.

First year Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith edged out the Miami Dolphins first year coach Tony Sparano for the AP Coach of the Year Award.

Smith led the Falcons to an 11-5 record and a playoff berth amongst the turmoil of the abrupt departure of former head coach Bobby Petrino and the dog fighting incident with former quarterback Michael Vick.

The Falcons were a dismal 4-12 last year with Bobby Petrino at the helm, but the addition of rookie quarterback Matt Ryan, free agent running back Michael Turner and Smith at head coach turned the Falcons into a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Congratulations Mike Smith!!!

San Diego Chargers speedy running back <del datetime="2009-01-04T12:09:23+00:00"></del>Darren Sproles led his team to a 23-17 victory in overtime past NFL MVP Peyton Manning and his Indianapolis Colts Saturday night in the first round of the playoffs at Qualcomm Stadium.

As promised San Diego Chargers starting running back LaDainian Tomlinson did give it a go through and played sparingly through the beginning of the second quarter and scored a three yard touchdown.

The Chargers also had another unexpected hero in this game and his name is Mike Scifres.

Who is Mike Scifres you ask? Well he’s the Chargers punter, yes the punter of all people made a huge difference in a playoff game. I have never seen a punter kick like this in a game.

He punted the ball six times for an average of 52.7 yards per punt including a 67-yarder. What’s even more impressive is that all six of Scifres punts pinned the Manning and the Colts offense inside their own 20.

After fumbling near the end zone in this game, Sproles came back to make up for his mistake and then some. He totaled 328 yards, 105 yards rushing, 45 receiving yards, 106 kick return yards, 72 punt returns and his two touchdowns, the most important one was the 22-yard touchdown scored to seal the game.

This makes two years in a row that the Chargers beat the Colts in the playoffs. WOW!!!

Congratulations Chargers!!!

Fitzgerald made an amazing 42-yard touchdown catch to start of the scoring and then Boldin made a 71-yard touchdown catch on the next possession to give the Cardinals their second score in a row.

The Cardinals defense held Falcons star running back Michael Turner to just 42 yards on 18 carries and intercepted Falcons rookie quarterback Matt Ryan two times in this pivotal first round matchup.

The momentum changer was when Cardinals safety Antrel Rolle caught a fumble off of a tremendous play made in the backfield by Rolle’s teammate defensive tackle Darnell Dockett and ran it back 27-yards for a touchdown.

Arizona Cardinals rookie cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie picked off fellow rookie Matt Ryan to seal the victory for his team as they move on to the second round of the playoffs. Rodgers-Cromartie also led the team in tackles with 10. Overall the Cardinals played a great game and is looking good right now. I would hate to play this team continuing on in the playoffs.

Congratulations Cardinals!!!

Sources close to the San Diego Chargers say that running back LaDainian Tomlinson will “try” to give it a go against the Colts in tonight’s playoff game after finding out he has a torn tendon near his groin.

Does this look and sound familiar Charger fans??? Yeah I bet it does, because that’s where you will see your franchise player sitting tonight when they against the Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Tomlinson tried to give it a go against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game last year and played about two or three plays and sat on the bench the rest of the game.

Meanwhile, Antonio Gates was playing with a turf toe and Phillip Rivers with a very bad knee fighting for their one great shot at a Super Bowl and got no help from their star/franchise player.

This year seems to be no different for the Chargers and their mighty hero. Tomlinson has to be the best incomplete season running back in NFL history because he seems to only be healthy enough to play in the regular season but when it comes time for the playoffs he somehow stays hurt.

Bottom Line: The Chargers need to keep a very good second string back on their roster because Tomlinson seems to be a regular season back only.
