First Annual Battle Of Florida College Football All-Star Game

Legendary college football coaches Bobby Bowden, formerly of Florida State and Howard Schnellenberger, formerly of the Miami Hurricanes and the FAU Owls, will be coaching the North and South teams at the inaugural Battle of Florida College Football All-Star Game.

Co-founder Brian McNeely said there is a five-year contract to host the game, which will include NFL draft-eligible players who were either born in or played high school football in Florida.

For the first time in any all-star game, two players from the NAIA will be participating in the game. Webber International defensive tackle Josh Long will play on the North team and former teammate Chris Hart, who played quarterback for the Warriors will play for the South team.

Some of the bigger names playing this game are Florida wide receiver Deonte Thompson, Wake Forest running back Brandon Pendergrass, Michigan wide receiver Martavious Odoms and South Carolina quarterback Stephen Garcia.

The game will be played at the new Florida Atlantic University Stadium on Saturday, January 21 and will air live on Fox College Sports.
