Florida Gators Football Recruit Cody Riggs Named Florida Track & Field Athlete Of The Year

Cody Riggs, who helped the St. Thomas Aquinas boys’ track team to the Class 4A state title last month, was named the Gatorade Florida Boys’ Track and Field Athlete of the Year on Tuesday.

The 5-foot-9 senior won the 300-meter hurdles at the 4A state meet in 36.44 seconds, the fastest time in the nation this year. It was his third consecutive state title in the event.

Riggs, who signed a letter-of-intent to play football at Florida, is eligible for the National Player of the Year for Track and Field.
