Florida State RB Jermaine Thomas Named Starter

The battle between running back Jermaine Thomas and sophomore Chris Thompson has been settled with Thomas coming out on the winning end.

Thomas said running backs coach Eddie Gran pulled Thomas aside earlier in the week and told him he was going to be the starter.

“It was a relief,” Thomas said. “I felt like I really did put everything aside and really did work as hard as I possibly could.”

Thomas led the Seminoles in 2009 with 867 yards and nine touchdowns with a 5.1 yard average.
