Former Buccaneers LB Derrick Brooks Set To Retire

The Buccaneers have announced LB Derrick Brooks will make his retirement official on Wednesday.

Brooks was released by Tampa Bay after the 2008 season and, while he expressed interest in continuing his career, the 14-year veteran never signed with another team.

The nine-time All-Pro and 11-time Pro Bowl selection will make the announcement on his website, DerrickBrooks.tv, today and will hold a press conference at Buccaneers team headquarters on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Brooks played in every Bucs game from 1995-2008 and is considered a lock to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
