Former Colts Pro Bowl S Bob Sanders Signs With The Chargers

Former Indianapolis Colts pro bowl safety Bob Sanders found a home with the San Diego Chargers after signing a one-year deal on Thursday evening.

Sanders, known as one of the hardest hitting safeties in the NFL is joining a defense that finished No. 1 in the NFL in total defense and fewest passing yards allowed last season.

“We are all very excited to add Bob Sanders to our defense,” General Manager A.J. Smith said. “We have always held him in high regard. He’s a smart, physical, instinctive player. His intensity and playmaking ability can make an immediate impact on our defense.”

“There’s no question I’m excited. The fact that Bob was available and excited about being here and then having it work out is great,” Head Coach Norv Turner said. “Our guys have unbelievable respect for him and what he’s done through the years. Certainly he knows what we’re capable of doing, so it’s a great fit.” ~ Chargers.com

Sanders, a former NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has been hampered by injury his entire career and looks to turn that around in San Diego.

I doubt they'll lose any sleep over his signing anywhere. When he plays he's great, but he just hasn't played enough. I wouldn't pay him anything over the league minimum.
