Former Florida State CB Deion Sanders Selected For The College Football Hall of Fame
Former Florida State Seminole star cornerback Deion Sanders has been selected for the College Football Hall of Fame becoming the fourth Seminole in five years to be selected (Bobby Bowden and Charlie Ward, 2006 and Ron Simmons, 2008).
Sanders, a pioneer in his own right, redefined the cornerback position during his four-year career in Tallahassee (1985-88).
Sanders won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back in 1988 also led the nation in punt returns and finished 8th in the balloting for the Heisman Trophy that year.
Sanders was a two-time unanimous All-America leading FSU to four bowl victories.
Sanders will be inducted at the annual National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Banquet held on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
