Former Gators & Cowboys LB Godfrey Miles Dead At Age 42
According to the University of Florida, former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Godfrey Myles died Thursday from complications of a heart attack he suffered the following day. He was 42.
Myles, a third-round pick in the 1991 NFL Draft, played six seasons with the Cowboys, winning three Super Bowl titles. Myles, a backup linebacker, started 11 games during the 1995 season. He suffered a torn ACL in the Cowboys’ Super Bowl XXX victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Myles played at Carol City High School in Miami, then earned a scholarship to the University of Florida becoming an All-American linebacker in his junior season and an All-SEC linebacker his senior season.
