Former Michigan Commit Demar Dorsey Signs With Louisville
, who was released from his letter of intent at Michigan earlier this month after not being admitted to the school, has signed with the University of Louisville, Scout.com is reporting.
“They say I have an opportunity to come right in and play, but I have to work for it,” Dorsey told InsideTheVille.com. “I’m hoping I can come right in and make an impact.”
Dorsey was the Big Ten’s highest-rated recruit according to ESPN Recruiting. However, Dorsey’s high school coach, Mark James, told ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg earlier this month that Dorsey met NCAA qualifications to play football but didn’t earn admittance to Michigan.
Dorsey twice was charged with felonies as a juvenile. He was acquitted of a charge of robbery with a deadly weapon in 2008, and an earlier burglary charge was dismissed.
The 6-foot, 175-pound Dorsey was a star at Boyd Anderson High School.
Dorsey is a cousin of Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson. Michigan lured him away from his verbal commitment to the University of Florida. USC and Florida State also recruited him.
