Former NFL Head Coach Dick Jauron To Coach Browns Defense
Former Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron has taken the position of defensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns. More recently, Jauron was the secondary coach in Philadelphia.
“He has a tremendous knowledge of the game and is an excellent teacher,” Shurmur said. “His experience in the NFL as a player, position coach, coordinator and head coach will be a huge asset to our staff.” ~ ESPN
Jauron and Browns new head coach Pat Shurmur have known each other for years. Jauron played and coached with Shurmur’s uncle, Fritz, in Green Bay and he also has ties with team president Mike Holmgren working as a defensive back coach when Holmgren was head coach of the Packers.
With this combination in Cleveland, it seems as if they are trying to bring a Green Bay Packer winning mentality to the Browns.
