Former NFL RB Jerome Bettis Says Steelers’ Have Lost Their Spirit
Former Steelers star running back Jerome Bettis dropped by to talk about Pittsburgh’s struggles this year.
“When you lose your spirit, then everything is pretty much gone,” Bettis said. “And that’s what I saw when they hit the field against the Cleveland Browns.”
Bettis said that head coach Mike Tomlin’s message isn’t getting through and the team probably isn’t practicing the right way.
“It tells me the leadership isn’t there,” Bettis said. “There was a lack of committment. The season is basically over.
Bettis also commented on the Colts and the Saints. He said that Indy has been there before, so it can rest its players. But the Saints need this kind of experience.
Bettis also talked about his alma mater, Notre Dame. He said the Irish won’t join the Big Ten. ”If they lost the NBC contract, then I think it’s something they would think about,” Bettis said.
