Former Ohio State WR Duron Carter, Son of Cris Carter, Commits To Alabama

Former St. Thomas Aquinas and Ohio State wide receiver Duron Carter committed to Alabama on Saturday while on his recruiting visit in Tuscaloosa.

Carter, the son of former NFL great Cris Carter, caught 13 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown before being ruled academically ineligible for the Buckeyes’ Rose Bowl victory over Oregon.

This past season, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Carter attended Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, where he caught 44 passes for 690 yards and 10 touchdowns along with a school-record five touchdowns in one game in a rout of Dodge City.
With Julio Jones entering the 2011 NFL Draft, Carter will look to take over one of the starting spots for the Crimson Tide this season.
